Union Steward

A union member elected or appointed to represent the interests of workers on the job site, ensure compliance with the terms of the labor agreement, address grievances, and serve as the point of communication between the crew and union leadership. The union steward is present on the show floor during installation and dismantle and plays an important role in maintaining productive working relationships between the exhibit house, the labor contractor, and the crew. Supervisors who understand and respect the role of the union steward typically experience smoother on-site operations.
