A skilled trade worker who assists with the physical setup, operation, and breakdown of staging, scenic elements, audio/visual equipment, lighting rigs, and production infrastructure at corporate events, general sessions, and theatrical productions. Stagehands work under the direction of the production or technical manager and are responsible for safe and efficient handling of event production equipment. In union venues, stagehand work falls under the jurisdiction of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and must be performed by union-affiliated crew members.
