Rigging

The discipline of safely lifting, suspending, and securing overhead loads within a venue or on a job site using cables, motors, chain hoists, hardware, and engineered attachment points. Rigging is required for hanging signs, lighting trusses, fabric structures, and any exhibit element suspended above the show floor. All rigging at trade shows and events must be performed by certified riggers, is subject to strict weight and engineering requirements, and in most venues falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the house rigging contractor.
