An electrical control device that regulates the intensity of a light source by varying the voltage or current supplied to the fixture. Dimmers are used in exhibit and event lighting design to adjust brightness levels, create ambiance, and transition between lighting states during presentations or demos. Compatibility between the dimmer and the light fixture type, particularly LED fixtures, must be verified during the lighting design phase.
